How does the QikKids Transaction Gateway work?
Step 1. In the QikKids Program
Parent's billing details are entered into QikKids. For credit card and direct debit payments you activate the
billing process based on your charging frequencies (i.e. weekly, fortnightly, monthly) while BPAY is fully automated.
Step 2. QikPay the QikKids Transaction Gateway
The Gateway processes the billing request/s via direct electronic links to the financial institution.
Step 3. Processing Financial Institution
The nominated financial service provider debits the nominated accounts, processing the payments directly back into your bank account(s).
Step 4. QikKids Transaction Gateway
QikKids then automatically adjusts account balances for both succesful any rejected payments and inputs new payments in the case of BPAY.
Who are the QikKids Participating Financial Institutions?
QikKids has made it possible to give clients a choice of participating financial institutions, the providers we currently have available are:
- Ezidebit
- FFA PaySmart
- Westpac Banking Corporation
Do you provide a report on the transaction status?
Yes, QikKids provides reports on both transaction results and settlement batches.
Our parents will be concerned about data security – what is in place to ensure security and privacy of their details?
All details, such as credit card number are encrypted before being stored in the database. These are transmitted using 128 bit SSL, secured with a 1024 bit key – this is the same encryption used by banks to protect internet banking transactions.
How long does it take for the money to reach my bank account?
This depends on the service provider and the type of transaction. It can vary from overnight to 3 days.
What happens if a payment is rejected?
QikKids will automatically reverse the payment and show the rejection on the family’s statement, along with a description of why the transaction failed.
Do I need to become a Merchant? If so, how do I do this?
Some credit card service providers may require you to become a merchant. If this is the case they will supply you with the required paper work.
Who do I contact with questions about payments?
You can contact the QikKids Support Desk for any questions about gateway transactions. There are no charges for gateway related support questions.
Can I give refunds to parents using this system?
Not at this stage, though if there is sufficient interest we may ask service providers to support this.
