CCMS Update
We are happy to announce that Qikkids is moving along nicely in relation to the planned transition for our clients to the government's new CCMS system.

As part of our development process, Qikkids has identified some potential issues with the CCMS system and we are currently seeking answers from DEEWR to overcome these issues. We will continue to update our software once DEEWR has resolved these issues.

Outstanding Issues:

  • CCMS will not accept attendances without a charge (free days or make up days).
  • In some circumstances CCMS requires that JFA be lodged as a separate session on the last day of attendance.
  • CCMS rejects sessions that claim less CCB hours than the session times would indicate. For example, if you operate an OSHC session from 2:30pm to 6:00pm but only claim 3 hours for the session, the claim will be rejected. If you decide to increase the claimed hours to 3.5 you may be in breach of other rules.
  • There is no way to fully cancel a formal enrolment. If you accidentally create a formal enrolment under the wrong child or family, you will not be able to claim CCB for the child for the duration of the incorrect enrolment.

Our main goal is to limit any issues caused by the introduction of a new system, and once we are satisfied that the potential for further issues are resolved, we will begin formalising the transition to the new system.

We would also like to publicly thank those Qikkids clients that have already moved to CCMS as part of the department’s process. The feedback and support we have received will ensure that Qikkids remains Australia’s number 1 CCMS childcare software program.

Kind regards,
Michael Hovey

FACSIA have advised the following : "To be eligible for Child Care Benefit approval, Family Day Care (FDC), Centre based Long Day Care (LDC) and Outside School Hours Care (OSHC) services must register for and satisfactorily participate in Child Care Quality Assurance (CCQA). Services are required to go through “accreditation” at an arranged time". If your service has not successfully participated in CCQA, we encourage you to discuss with FACSIA immediately.
